Between having an eventful year of touring and awards show performances, UCB (aka The Uncalled 4 Band aka The Uncalled 4 Experience) has used a good portion of 2009 to show the fruits of their decade-plus labor. We posted the trailer for “Pat Your Weave” (directed by Rik Cordero, produced by Three/21 Media) in September and the anticipation for the finished product has been growing ever since. Having spoken with the band’s drummer, Eric, and percussionist, Slump, a couple months back I learned the band is more than ready to continue providing unfamiliar crowds with the fusion of familiar sounds – a culmination of sounds better known as go-go. The Uncalled 4 Band has been a very fundamental complement to Wale’s march around the world and my pride for the city’s native sound has shot through the roof once again (and forever).
