Perusing Frank 151′s DC Chiefs site today, I came across a dope graphic of DC created by Chicago-based brand, Ork Posters. The company was started by freelance graphic designer, Jenny Beorkrem, in 2007 with the first poster being a neighborhood layout of her adopted home of Chicago, IL. Beorkrem’s inspiration came from a void of good neighborhood posters, so she decided to create one that fit her taste “for good design and typography, simplicity, and originality” – She’s been pretty successful so far. Ork has conjured up neighborhood map designs for many other popular cities such as Boston, LA, Philly, San Francisco, and Seattle. There’s even maps for the human heart and brain.
